The Dependent Bureau, Kathua:
State government`s massive outreach initiative, ‘Back to Village’ enters third phase in Kathua covering 44 panchayats across 4 blocks of the district.
In third phase, panchayats of Nagri, Kathua, Dhar Mahanpur and Mandli blocks were taken to get first hand appraisal of basic amenities in villages, DDC, Vikas Kundal informed while visiting several panchayats where the programme was scheduled.
In all the four blocks where this programme was scheduled today, villagers demanded benefits under PM Fasal Bima Yojana(PMFBY), old age pension, PM Jan Aarogya Yojana(PMJAY), drinking water, augmentation of PDD infra, renewal of gun licenses, PRC, Dogra Certificate, subsidy on agriculture implements, repair of link roads besides benefits from other welfare schemes.
During his visit DDC informed about the activities to be undertaken in first day of the programme- interaction with PRI members, frontline government functionaries, visit to important ongoing and languishing projects, schools, health institutions and other government assets besides inaugurating any completed public infrastructure.
He further stressed on motivating villagers to participate in conservation and restoration of natural water bodies, rain water harvesting, establishing vermin compost units, plantation drive during monsoons and leveling playfields.
The designated officers not only interacted with the villagers but also assessed the ground situation of allotted panchayats, emphasized on education, general cleanliness, organic farming, health of children, empowerment of women and solid waste management.
LPG cylinders under Ujjwala Yojana, fruit saplings and pass books for BBBP beneficiaries were also distributed on this occasion. Inauguration of rural infrastructure and employment fair for rural youth was also organized.
During his visit DDC was accompanied by ACD Kathua, Sukhpal Singh, BDOs, Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar and Patwari of the concerned panchayat. (The Dependent)
